Pfl income received from insurance company

I received a form 1099R as beneficiary for life insurance my late husband had with his job for the federal gov through Metlife insurance company  Taxes were withheld.  Am I required to pay taxes on this.  How do I report it?

Pfl income received from insurance company

You must enter it under Retirement Income.  The 1099-R represents the income earned from the date of death until the payment was made.  Sorry for your loss.
