There is no charge for a direct deposit.  What you are referring to is the optional Refund Processing Service to have your TurboTax account fees deducted from the federal tax refund.  The charge for this optional service is $34.99.

If you are in California the extra Refund Processing Service charge is 39.99 instead of 34.99.
