Parents taxes was rejected

Hi,

I tried filing my parents taxes but they keep getting rejected. It says that one of their dependent ( I'm the dependent) filed own taxes and did not check off the someone else can claim me box but I did check it off so I don't know why is it saying that. What can I do about it??

Unfortunately, your parents only option will be to print and mail in your return.  There is not a way to get around the efile system when it is rejected for this reason.

You will need to amend your return to say that someone else is claiming you.

This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.

See this TurboTax FAQ for help with amending.

Thank you for your answer. I already said that I can be claim by someone else. That is why I do not understand the cause for the rejection of my parents return.

When your parents tax return was rejected did they get a reason for the rejection or an error code?  If they did please post them to this thread for additional help.
