One question asks if I was a full time student in 2016. It then says that means at least 5 months of enrollment. I got paid in 5 months (Jan and Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec), but in January I took the medical leave of absence. Do you know whether I was officially

You are considered a full-time student if you attended school "some part of 5 months" of the year  is the exact wording the IRS uses to make you a full-time student for the tax year.
