On an estate trust how do I handle interest and dividends reported to SSn for the individual who died

The 1099INT or the 1099DIV will not match the returns.

What needs to happen is the final 1040 would report the amounts up to the date of death.

Then the remained amounts will be reported on the 1041 Estate return. 

Just keep documentation that the entire amount was reported (1040 and 1041) should the IRS ask.
