At beginning of 2018 Turbo Tax it wants to transfer 2017 taxes. Why would I do this??

IT TRANSFERS THE PERSONAL STUFF ONLY LIKE NAMES SS# AND EMPLOYER ID NUMBERS. I FIND THIS A GREAT TIME SAVER
