If you were self-employed, you can use Form 7202 to figure an amount to claim for qualified sick and family leave equivalent credits on your 2020 tax return.
You can learn more in the Purpose of Form 7202 and Who May File Form 7202? sections of the 2020 Instructions for Form 7202.
Please note that Form 7202 is tentatively scheduled to be available in TurboTax on February 11th. It will not be supported in e-file, so it must be printed, and you'd need to mail your return if the form applies to you.
I saw the warning on the TurboTax Home & Business software for Mac about turbotax not supporting e-filing form 7202. My question is: if I want to ONLY e-file, should I wait for a few days/weeks because this feature might be supported soon in the future, or does your team already decided to not support it so I should just move on to use another software if I ONLY want to e-file? Thanks.
Great question!! Geez, who wants to mail their tax return, I know I don't!! If Turbo tax isnt going to support Form 7202, I'm moving to another software. Gonna give it a couple weeks - I wonder if they're aware how many employed will most likely use this Form this year cuz of Covid!
