Exempt interest Dividends

Why are my exempt - interest dividends (downloaded from Chas Schwab) being added to my "Total Ordinary" dividends, which gives me more total dividends on the "Dividends on 1099 Div" line. It didn't work this way last year!

Exempt interest Dividends

Ohhhh, that total is just a total..nothing more

.....there is no indication on that summary $$ as to how it is being treated for tax purposes.

Check line 8b of your form 1040 to see if it's going to the right place (after you add all box 10 of 1099-DIV's and box 8 of 1099-INT's)
