Registered Nurse Student is required to attend clinicals at a hospital in city across the state. Is the money spent on lodging (BnB), food and mileage considered qualified education expenses?
Thank you.

It depends. Travel, lodging, and meals are not qualified education expenses for the purpose of the American Opportunity Tax Credit or the Lifetime Learning Credit.
See this TurboTax article for more information about the American Opportunity Tax Credit.
See this TurboTax article for more information about the Lifetime Learning Credit.
If you are employed as a nurse, and you travel for continuing education, this could be a deductible employee business expense, but only if you are self-employed or live in a state (such as California) that still allows a deduction for employee business expenses and only to the extent that they exceed a percentage of your adjusted gross income. See this help article for more information.
Thank you.
