After using Easy Step to fill out my 2023 taxes, TurboTax claims it found one error: it says I need to fill out Row 28 on California Form 3510 (Prior Year AMT).
1) Technical / navigation question: the field is highlighted in yellow and isn't possible for me to edit unless I click override. What does this mean and how should I fill it out? I've tried to right-click to see if that field is supposed to be carried in from somewhere else, but I don't see anything when I right click. The only way I seem to be able to fill it out is to click "edit" --> "override."
2) Protection / guarantee questions: If I simply leave this blank (which is the correct answer) and file it with the error from Turbotax flagged, will I lose audit protection or any other valuable guarantees? What if I press override to fill it out and write "$0", will I lose them then? Basically... is there any way to approach this without losing the benefits/protection/guarantees that Turbotax offers?
3) Taxes question: It seems to me that TurboTax is making an error here. That field is asking me to enter my AMT from my 2022 Schedule P (540), but I only filed a Schedule P (540) in 2020 when I owed AMT. All I need to do now is carry over my AMT credit from the prior year. Does this mean I should leave Row 28 on Form 3510 blank or enter $0? In my taxes from last year, that field says "$0" (I'm not sure if I had to override Turbotax or if it figured it out itself last year)
I'll also take this moment to express how upsetting it is that TurboTax doesn't simply carry over information on prior year AMT credits for state taxes itself. It does this great for federal taxes, and it has my information from last year for state taxes too. It should populate my 2023 taxes accordingly. I almost didn't notice this last year or this year. Each year this mistake would have cost me ~$4000 if I didn't catch it... and figuring out how to fill it out myself has taken hours of unnecessary time.

I reached a TurboTax technical support specialist on the phone who instructed me to use the override feature. She said I won't lose any protections by using that, as long as smart check runs again and confirms there are no errors. I entered $0, ran smart check, and got no errors.
I'm still VERY frustrated that TurboTax doesn't carry over information on prior year AMT credits for state taxes.
