My 13 year old dependent earned $2000 in income from babysitting in 2018. Do I need to enter this on my return?
No. Your child will need to file his or her own return and report this income on Schedule C. Babysitting income is considered income from self-employment and is subject to self-employment tax.

Income earned from working is never reported on a parent's tax return, only on a return in the person's own name. This does not usually affect your ability to claim them as a dependent.
