I owe taxes and applied to pay in installments. I put my banking info for a direct debit. But it wasn’t done . Was I suppose to mail the payment. Please help

I’ve seen 2 different answers. My account wasn’t debited.  Was I suppose to mail my 1040 V with a check

No, you do not mail anything if you set up payment arrangements.  You will receive a letter from the IRS prior to the first payment coming out of your account.  It does take a little bit sometimes.

No, you do not mail anything if you set up payment arrangements.  You will receive a letter from the IRS prior to the first payment coming out of your account.  It does take a little bit sometimes.
