Is Turbo Tax no longer free when it comes to filing a 1098-T?

No, with the new tax changes, TurboTax Free Edition, handles only simple returns with no additional schedules.

The following TurboTax FAQ shows the list of qualifications for the TurboTax Free Edition:  https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3334660

You will need to upgrade to the Deluxe version to enter your 1098-T.
