No State Estimated Tax calculations or forms for North Carolina

Turbo Tax has elected to not include estimated tax calculation for 2025.  They did include the Federal Estimated Tax Form but did not include the State Form.  In my experience this is a gross oversight as it does not take much code to include these.  I will be looking for a new provider next year if they are not willing to fix this oversight.  I have been a customer for over 30 years.

Looks like you can print estimated payments vouchers, but it will not be part of your efile.

Use this link to reference when your tax forms will be available. You can search by TurboTax Product and for IRS and State-Specific Forms.

The NC-40 forms are not (normally) automatically generated, unless you happened to be in a situation where you should-have used them for this year's taxes.   (At least, that's how I seem to remember it, historically)

However....you can force them to be generated anyhow, by going thru the state interview.  At the end of the sate interview, there is an "Other Situations" section in the menu, and when you go in there, there is a section to start called "Make Estimated Payments for Next Year",, and futzing with the number in the interview until you generate the forms.  (At least, that's where they are in the Desktop software...Online should be similar)

OR, if using the desktop software, you can get them to be generated in Forms Mode, using the "Estimated Tax Worksheet", and even use rounding up to next $1, $10, or $100 to avoid the stupid cents.

But, I just pay what I think I need to on the NCDOR website.  No NC-40 forms required
