assume you're under 65 and married filing jointly with 3 children under 17 on 12/31/22.
if your adjusted gross income was $72K you would be left with about $47K in taxable income after the $25K standard deduction. the tax on that is about $6K but with 3 dependents under 17 you would get about $6K in tax credits and thus owe nothing.
the thing to check is are they taking out social security and medicare taxes. if they are then you're being treated as an employee and should get a w-2 for 2022.
if they are not then it may be they're treating you as an independent contractor in which case you will have a tax bill, and also owe penalties for underpaying your taxes, because in addition to income taxes you would be subject to self-employment taxes of about 15% of your net SE income (Schedule C)
