We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question since allocation is done by you as you go through the program?
Amy,
it’s the Allocation worksheet NJ 1040. The last column D, is supposed to be blank. It’s shows red.
-Wages
-Interest income
-business income
the business took a lost, it shows a negative number in column A & B. Thereby not allowing me to file since these errors show on review page. (Sorry for delay in response)
Column D nonresident period is calculated by the program. For a Sch C business, New Jersey does not allow a net business loss to be reported directly on the tax return to offset other income. NJ lets you carry forward business losses. Negative numbers will not be used on the allocation form.
Let's go through the NJ part year together:
I am not getting the red column D when entering through the interview. Once you have corrected your A and B columns, the program should be good.
If not, let's get you through the review.
I know it's late.. 2 days prior to filing. UUUggh
I notice that I have another error. NY state says I cannot enter direct deposit account for 2025 refund. (Btw that refund has yet to enter our bank account since March 8, 2026).
-If change that box to NO, for direct deposit (NY state refund), will the state send a check in the mail??
NOW BACK TO NJ
-Where to find NJ General information on Turbo Tax screen?? thereby to complete what instructions you shared...
