NFL Ticket sales no 1099-K

I sold some NFL tickets via NFL Ticket Exchange, I did not get a 1099-K.  I know I need to report the sale, even the losses.  How do I enter this information?  The 2025 version of Turbo Tax appears different than what I did in 2024.

Yes, you should report all taxable income.

If you did not receive Form 1099-MISC for this income, you may enter it as Other Reportable Income. If you are logged into TurboTax, use this link for Other Reportable Income.

Or you can follow these steps:

  1. Open your return.
  2. Go to Wages & Income.
  3. Scroll down to Less Common Income and click the down arrow.
  4. Click Start/Revisit beside Miscellaneous Income.
  5. Click Start/Revisit beside Other Reportable Income.
  6. Follow the prompts to enter the income you earned from this activity.

The easiest way to find any section of TurboTax Online, is go to Tax Tools in the left column >> Tools >> Topic Search. Type in your topic, click the topic in the list and then GO to go directly to the start of that section.

I understand and followed the directions provided.  Under "Other reportable income" I only had to identify it as NFL ticket sales.  I entered the total amount gained; from reading about reporting NFL ticket sales it doesn't appear I can claim my losses, which surpass my gains.  Is this correct?

As far as how I entered the information in Other reportable income, does that appear correct?

The reason I ask, on last years tax return, where I had the same situation and asked this question, the directions I was given for Turbo Tax had me file under Investments and Savings, the same heading is not in Turbo Tax 2025,  complete a Form 8949.  (In 2025 I guess Investment Income is close.)    On 8949 I had to list each transaction, both losses and gains.  I want to ensure that I am correctly filing my taxes.

The instructions above are based on the scenario of you receiving either a Form 1099-K or a Form 1099-MISC for this income. Since you have not received those forms, and I don't believe you should, you are correct that the way you filed this 'income from ticket sales' in the prior year is the way you want to report this income in the current year: Investment and Savings menu > to federal Form 8949. Here are the steps in TurboTax Online and Desktop:

  1. Open (continue) your return, if it isn't already open.
  2. In TurboTax, search for 1099-B and then select the Jump to link in the search results.
  3. Answer Yes to Did you sell stocks, mutual funds, bonds, or other investments in 2025?
    • If you see Here's the info we have for these investment sales, select (+) Add More Sales.
  4. Answer NO to Did you get a 1099-B or brokerage statement for these sales?
  5. Follow the prompts from there to enter your sales transactions for the current year.
