New York State Sent me Form DTF-973.52-O requesting information on the amount of taxes withheld from wages. I am out of the country. How long do I have to respond?

I will not be home until mid-June and I do not have copies of my W-2 to send. Do I need to contact New York state or can I wait until I get back in the country?

Read the form to see if there are any deadlines ... probably not since the return is just in limbo until you respond.  Worse that can happen is that you would have to refile the return later.  If you can get someone to save the W-2 forms as a PDF then you can send it to them as an attachment.... just set up an online account it is really easy.
