Need help filling out my 8962 form

To fill out the form 8962 you to go to

  • Deductions and Credits
  • Medical
  • Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A)

You need your form 1095-A to put the information in.  The program will walk you through the steps and will produce the form 8962 for you.

You can use whatever product you used last year to create Form 8962 and revise your 2019 tax return to add the 1095-A    Full instructions are included in the link below.

Form 8962 Premium Tax Credit is required when someone on your tax return had health insurance in 2020 through Healthcare.gov (or a state marketplace) and took the Advance Premium Tax Credit to lower their monthly premium. We'll help you create (or correct) the form in TurboTax.

You should have received a paper form in the mail from your marketplace. If you didn't receive a Form 1095-A, sign in to your Healthcare.gov account to download a copy.  Once you've got it, follow the instructions below for your version of TurboTax.   @GANNIE4

If you received a letter from the IRS requesting Form 8962 and want more info, visit:

The IRS is requesting Form 8962 for 2019   -  When you click on this link, the article references 2020, but choose the 2019 return from your Tax Home page when you sign in.
