Near the beginning of the return under income it lists previous accounts that had interest from 1099-int or1099-div from various accounts that were on last years return. Similarly, it asks on the following section if there were distributions from various pension or annuity accounts and list accounts the were on last year’s return.
On both of the sections above you are to answer yes or no if income was received.
The problem I have is on the 1009-R accounts that are listed it does not mention the account names, rather it only lists generic names that are something like ‘retirement income from brokerage name 1099-R’ and that same account name is listed a bunch of times. I see no way of knowing if I received income from the accounts or not? Some accounts I did and others maybe I did not but I cannot tell what the accounts are.
Should I mark no to all of them or yes to all of them?

Mark yes to them all, as if you answer no then it takes it off the 2017 return.
Then you may have to re-enter entire name, address, EIN,
Then when you actually get to enter the 1099R's, you can say no to the individual ones you do not need at that time.
This will save you a little time and also help ensure that nothing is overlooked.
