My wife was employed by a police pepartment as a crossing guard & crossing guard supervisor. Is that considered a public safety employee?

• “Qualified public safety employee” means an employee of a State or political subdivision (e.g., city, county, etc.) whose “principle duties include services requiring specialized training” in the area of police protection, firefighting services, or emergency medical services for any area within the jurisdiction of the State or political subdivision.

It would be best for her to ask her Human Resource Department to verify, but if she is a member, or has an option to be a member, of the "Public Safety Employees Union" she may be considered a public safety employee.
