My wife died in 2016 and I processed 1040 as joint thru Turbo Tax. for 2017 with no dependents I will process as single. Does my wife's name remain on 1040 for 2017?

No, your wife's name will not remain on your tax return for 2017.  2016 was the only year you could file a joint return. So sorry for your loss.
