I was working for a company located in Ohio while living in NY.
I received my w2 with only values in boxes 16,17,18,19 , with no value in box 1-6.
I know my company withheld taxes from me, as I can see from my bi-weekly paychecks and paystubs, which I had copies of.
I filed the tax form with the information I had, and my IRS online account shows I still havent filed even though It has been about 2 months.
What should I do now? Should I call IRS and file for an amendment?
you may have only gotten part of your w-2. contact your employer. or your not looking at the complete w-2 which sometimes consists of multiple pages
I suppose I can reach out to the company again, I checked the entire mail there is only 1 page of w2.
Sounds like you got the "overflow" W-2 form for the second state but not the base W-2 form showing the federal & one state info ... some employers have to do it this way because their payroll programs cannot handle 2 states on one form. Ask your employer for the rest of the W-2 form.
