My taxes submission date says 1/22/2024. What does that mean?

That is the date that TurboTax thought the IRS would start processing 2023 federal tax return.  The IRS official start date is 01/29/2024 so disregard that previous date.

Actually the new submitted date will be 1/29.  You will be waiting awhile.  The IRS won't be accepting returns until 1/29/24.  Until then the returns will wait on Turbo Tax servers until the IRS pulls them.

And it may take several days to a week after the 29th.....the IRS computers can't process them all the first day....and might even delay further if the computers choke up.
