Do you mean you have a SIX-digit PIN and did not enter it? Your return will be rejected. Watch your emails.
There are two types of PIN numbers.
The e-filing PIN is 5 digits, and if used to file a prior year tax return it will be imported into the current year's return for e-filing.
The IP PIN is a six-digit PIN issued to you directly from the IRS. Typically via postal mail every year, since this PIN will change every year.
If either PIN is required and you e-file without it, your e-filed return will be rejected by the IRS. You'll have to wait until you get the e-mail telling you it was rejected, before you can enter the correct PIN in the correct place in the program, and then attempt to e-file it again.
But where is the Federally issued 6-digit PIN located in Turbo Tax? I have to use it every year but it doesn't ask me for it and I can't find how to locate it. This should be much easier.
