My tax software says that 1099s are not yet available from my brokers, but they just became available. How do I get the software to let me download them?

It may take a day or two for the import function to be updated once your broker has released the forms for import. Once the documents have been released and tested by TurboTax for functionality, you'll be able to import those documents.
