The third round of Economic Impact Payments (EIP3) will be based on the taxpayer's latest processed tax return from either 2020 or 2019. If the IRS has received and processed a taxpayer's 2020 return, the agency will instead make the calculation based on that return and use the bank information on your latest return. Since your return is still being processed, then the IRS will use the last return filed (2019).
Please check the Get My Payment tool for updates on your payment status, which is now live and reflective of information for EIP3.
Thanks IRS😑 I was a dependent, as were both my children, on a now deceased persons 2019 return. So no stimulus or child tax credit even though my return was accepted on the very first day of the season.
Since you have filed a 2020 tax return any missed stimulus payments from round one and/or two will be applied to your 2020 tax return in the form of a Recovery Rebate Credit. You will find that credit on line 30 of your 2020 form 1040. If your 2020 tax return shows you cannot be claimed as dependent and you have qualifying children on your 2020 tax return then you will be eligible for the Recovery Rebate Credit. You should have indicated on your 2020 tax return that you did not received any prior stimulus payments.
Similarly, the third round stimulus payment will be based on your 2020 tax return information. The third round stimulus payments will be sent separately from your tax refund (Recovery Rebate Credit).
