my status is married filing separately but the schedule E keeps saying "Owned jointly should not be checked because my status is not married filing jointly. how to fix?

When you are in your tax return go to the rental activity and Edit.

Select Edit beside Rental Property Info > Scroll to Owner Name to make your correction.
Continue through the rental property section until you select Done.
