"Ready
to mail" means that your return will be printed (by
you) and mailed to the State (by you). If you chose direct deposit for your
refund option, then your refund will still be sent this way after the IRS
processes your paper mailed return. If you've chosen to mail your return, the 'status' of your return will not display as accepted or rejected.
Instead, it will display 'ready to mail' to indicate you've completely
finalized your return.
