Choose the State where you earned the Income and Paid the Tax shown in Boxes 18, 19, and 20 on your W-2.
If you were a Non-Resident of that State (you only worked there), you can file a Non-Resident State Return to claim a refund.

I work and live in alaska and am a resident. Alaska is not listed but my w2 has amounts in boxes 18,19. Should I just not enter these numbers because there is on state tax in Alaska?
Please tell us what is in your boxes 18, 19, and 20? Is there really a local income tax (like from a city or county) from where you live in Alaska?
Box 18. 41500.00
19. 207.50
20. ESC
Is the state in box 15 of your W-2 the state that you live in and work in? Or is it another state? Is there a local tax, a city tax or a county tax?
