My spouse and i are separated therefore i cannot get his ss#

when asked to supply spouses ss # i can not because we are separated some 20 years i dont have access to that information

Unfortunately, this will force you to file your tax return by mail.  The IRS will not accept an e-file without a social security number.  

If you support another person, you may be able to file head of household instead.  If you think that is a possibility, take a look at the article below to see if you qualify.
