My sons dad is claiming my son this year.. but turbo tax still asked for his social do i use his social still or not? does that mean i will claim him?

my sons dad is claiming my son this year and turbo tax said he does not qualify as my dependent.. but said they will still give me some money for being his parent was i supposed to still add his social security? my claim was 4000 when im not even claiming him this year! HELP??

Yes.   Enter the information on your son in your return.

If you are the custodial parent and you are waiving the dependent deduction to your son's father for 2016, you still retain the right to claim the earned income credit (EIC), Head of Household filing status, and the child and dependent care credit on that child.   The other parent ONLY gets to claim the dependency exemption and the child tax credit.

Yes.   Enter the information on your son in your return.
