My son went to a trade school to get a job in the union, he has earnings in box 7 on a 1099-misc form. how do i enter it, it keeps thinking he is self employed. Thanks

1099-MISC box 7 income is self-employed income and if over $400 SE (self-employment) tax must be paid on schedule SE.

See schedule C instructions page C17.   Depends on what the income was for or unclassified.
