My son turned 19 Jan 2017, lived with us with income of $5,175. Went into the military in July with income of $7,021. Is he my dependent for 2017 or on my taxes at all?

No, since he was not under the age of 19 and not a student he no longer meets the criteria to be your qualifying child.  He earned more than $4,050, therefore, he would not qualify as a qualifying relative so for 2017 he would not be a dependent on your tax return.

Military has nothing to do with it even though Turbo Tax talks about counting days for military?
