My review says I'm not required to file a tax return for Tennessee. I am trying to file my husband's UT grad student W-2. Does this mean I delete the W-2? Why wouldn't that be filed?

Here's the exact message:
"You are not required to file a tax return. Please delete your Tennessee return. If you see a message below that says you can file by mail, please ignore it."

Tennessee is one of the states that does not have state taxes.

Which is the reason it is stating, "You are not required to file a state return, please delete Tennessee return." You do not need to remove the W-2 because you still need it entered for you Federal return.

To remove your state return :

1. On your Tax Timeline go to the State Taxes tab.

2.Choose the Your State Returns tab

3.Next to your state under Action choose Delete.

4. Select Yes when it ask, "Are you sure you want to delete this state?"

As needed,your Tennessee State Return is now deleted.
