My returns were rejected, do I now have to file an extension?

No, you can't file an extension after the deadline.

If you can fix the rejection reason and re-submit, you have a 5-day grace period for your return to be considered on time.  If you want to mail your return, attach a copy of the rejection notice, and get proof of mailing (like a tracking number) showing you mailed the return within the grace period.

No, you have to fix the reason it was rejected. What reason/code does the rejection message provide?
