My return keeps getting rejected saying I cannot claim my 20 year old daughter as a dependent. But, she should qualify for the "other dependent" deduction correct?

How do I claim her for this?

It may not be an issue with the program. Generally, you would find out you can't claim someone before you submit your return. It is likely that she claimed herself, someone esle claimed her, or it is just a mistake with IRS. Look at the reason given for the rejection.

If your daughter already filed a tax return herself and said that she cannot be claimed, then her SSN is in the system and your return claiming her will continue to be rejected.  So----is that what happened?   If so, she may need to amend and you will have to file by mail, since even if she amends it will not "catch up" in the system this year.

As whether she CAN be claimed----if she is 20---was she a full-time student in 2022?  Did she earn or receive more than $4400 of income in 2022?
