My refund was rejected because of nontaxable combat pay. I put exactly what the W-2 says. How do I fix it?

What was the reject code and message?

I also got this, and 3 other people I know did as well.

I repeat, "What was the reject code and message?"

Mine too. We did have combat pay on our w-2 as my hubby was deployed part of this year. We’ve never had an issue with his combat pay before as he’s been in 15 years and was deployed part of last year as well.

Hello everyone, this happened to me as well. I went through my information and just re-entered all the numbers for combat pay and my federal return was accepted within 20 minutes. None of the info was wrong so idk why it was rejected in the first place, but it was accepted once I tried again. Hope this helps!

Returns with the 8812 and the combat pay exclusion were being held.

It appears that the Online product has already been updated, so everyone with this hold should be able to e-file now (please tell us if you can't).

If you have the desktop product (CD or downloaded), on or after January 30th (in case the desktop software has not been updated yet for this situation), update your desktop software, make any corrections if prompted, then submit for e-file again.
