My parents own a business. At the end of the year I took a 10k draw for reaching a specific level. They write a check I deposit it. How do I show that on my taxes

I also receive a regular pay check and a w-2. At this time I have it listed under additional income and sales.

If the income is paid for the services you performed, i.e., performance goals, it should have been included on your W2. If this didn't happen or it doesn't get corrected then you will report the income as though it was self employment and pay personal income tax as well as self employment tax on that amount.

If a Form 1099-MISC was not issued you can report it directly on the self employment activity, Schedule C, by using the steps below.  Any expenses that directly relate to the bonus only can be used to reduce this specific income before these taxes are applied on the tax return.

You can go directly to the area to review your information by following these steps.

TurboTax online version:

1. Sign into your account and select your current return.

2. Select  My Account on the top right and then select Tools

3. Select Topic Search (see attached image)

4. Search for business and select Go (you can use 1099misc if you have this document, otherwise do not enter one)

5. Start you business entry - TurboTax will guide you through the rest of your return and automatically apply the self employment tax.

TurboTax desktop version:

1. Search box in the upper right

2. Search for business, schedule c

3. Jump to business, schedule c (you can use 1099misc if you have this document, otherwise do not enter one)

4. Start you business entry - TurboTax will guide you through the rest of your return and automatically apply the self employment tax.
