My parent mistakenly claimed me as a dependent on their tax return. He claimed me last year because I was a full-time student but I am now 23, living on my own, and working full-time. I have a child that I tried to claim on my tax return this year but it

Your parent will want to file an amended tax return to remove you as a dependent. You will want to print, sign, and file on paper this year, because the e-file will be rejected.

Is there a specific time I should wait after my parent has filed an amended tax return, or can I go ahead file mine on paper?

No need to wait, you can file on paper as soon as you have completed your taxes.
