My parent do not claim me as a dependent, but on my taxes I have it checked that I can be claimed as a dependent. Will this prevent me from getting the stimulus check? If so can I change that so I wil

If you meet the qualifications to be claimed as a dependent, then you would not receive the stimulus check even if they choose not to claim you.  You would need to mark that you cannot be claimed as a dependent, and you would need to not qualify to be claimed. 

 You would qualify to be a dependent of your parents if:

• you are under age 19 
• you are age19-23 and a full-time student and receive more than half of your support from your parents
• you are permanently disabled

the tricky part of the question is not whether were your claimed as a dependent by others (presumably your parents), it's whether they CAN claim you.  

if they CAN claim you, whether they do or not, unfortunately, you are not eligible for the $1200 stimulus payment.
