My new laptop will have no cd drive. Will I be able to download Turbo since I already purchased the cd?  It looks like Turbo needs to instruct a download code.

I think you will need to call in to customer support to get a download pushed to your online account (in the "purchases" or "downloads and unlocks" section.)  Or, copy the installer file (disk image) onto a flash drive using a Mac with a CD drive, and then use the flash drive to install the program on the new Mac.

In the future, you can buy the download directly from Intuit, Amazon, Staples or Target.

There is an automated procedure to get a download but I think it only applies to purchases from Costco since they specifically advertise both the CD and the download in stores.
