You have to use a separate account for your mother's tax return. Each TurboTax Online account can only be used for one person's tax returns, or one married couple's joint returns. You cannot prepare another tax return with the same account that you used for your own return. You can use the same email address for up to 5 accounts, but you have to use different user IDs.

See the FAQ at the following link for instructions to start another tax return with a new user ID.

You may have to file a 2017 tax return for your mother at the end of this year. If so, you can use the same account that you set up now for her 2016 tax return.

Suggest that you read IRS Pub 559 (Survivors, Executors, and Administrators) for a lot of good information about filing a tax return and estate return for a deceased taxpayer and other requirements such as how the return must be signed when filed by someone other than a spouse.
