My marital status changed because wife passed away. I've been instructed by turbo to start a new return. Do I need whole new acct with passwords etc. Please advise

If your wife passed away during 2016, you should still file a married filing jointly tax return for 2016. If she passed in an earlier year and you were listed first on your last joint tax return, you can continue to use the same account you used when you filed jointly with your wife. Just make sure you delete any transferred information that was for your wife only.

If you were listed second on the last return you filed jointly, then you must start a new account with a new user ID and password. You can continue to use the same email address.
