My last name is not changed on my W-2s does it matter?

My maiden name is on my W-2s but I have legally changed to my married name. Can I put my married name on the forms even though my W-2s have my maiden name?

The IRS uses your social security number to match to your W-2s. The name on your W-2s does not matter.

However, you should use the name on your social security card on your return. If you haven't changed it since you were married with the Social Security Administration, I would use your maiden name.
