You will need to print your return and mail them. There may be a bug in TurboTax that is causing this when one spouse is deceased, or, it is an issue with the IRS who may have blocked your spouse’s Social Security number to prevent fraud. Either way, you need to print and mail your tax returns this year.

The problem there is that, with a Turbotax Online return, it is almost impossible to change the order of spouses. The customer would need to start over from scratch with a new account listing the surviving spouse on the top line, and would then have to call customer support to get the payment from one applied to the other, or else pay twice.
