My husband and I own an LLC in HI. Last year we moved to the Big Island. Husband continued to work on Oahu. Can we deduct his plane rides and our moves to and from B.I?

We moved to the Big Island in January of last year, my husband commuted twice a month, totaling about $500/month in plane rides. He stayed with my mother in law, so we didn't occur any other travel expenses. We moved back to Oahu when our business started to do better. Can we deduct those trips as a travel expense? Can we also deduct our moves to and from (shipping was around 2k for the moves).

Thank you

You can deduct moving expenses only in connection with a qualifying job change and not for any other reason.
You will find the details in IRS Pub. 521
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p521.pdf

The cost of commuting to and from your job is a personal commuting expense and it is not deductible, no matter what the distance is.
