My husband and i filed jointly. he entered his income and i did not include my ihss payments i receive for my daughter. i was told that was ok but just want to make sure.

You are correct.....IHSS income your receive for care of your daughter in your home is exempt from Federal Income Tax. In my state (California) this income is also exempt from State taxes (you may want to check your state's rules regarding this income.)
If you exclude the W2 from your income, you may receive a notice from the IRS in a couple of months asking why you left it out......at that time write them back and tell them you are claiming an exemption under IRS Notice 2014-7 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/n-14-07.pdf
