Who is the full-time student, your grandson or the father?
If you do not have it in writing / court documents / that you are the only person that can claim your grandchild for tax purposes then your son is in full right to do so. Not saying I agree, I'm just saying that he is legally allowed to do so.
Per tie breaker rules with the IRS when more than one person is claiming a dependent:
If only one of the persons is the child’s parent, the child is treated as the qualifying child of the parent.

@jashuaj1990 when the child is in college, they are considered to be living at home, so the parent would claim him not you.
