My friend was out of the country for the entire last year and hence did not have any income. But he received the stimulus checks. Should he still file the returns?

If he received his stimulus check he does not have to file the tax return if he had no income. He does not have to report the stimulus checks- if he had NOT received them he could have filed a tax return to claim them now.
